Andrei A. Bunaciu

Andrei A. Bunaciu was born in 1955 in Făgăraş, a small Transylvanian town in central Romania. He graduated from the Politehnica University of Bucharest in 1979. He received his Ph.D. in 1990 from the Politehnica University of Bucharest, Faculty of Chemistry, Department of Analytical Chemistry, with a focus on ion-selective membrane electrodes applied in pharmaceutical analysis. For several years, he worked in Romania, as a Senior Researcher at the Central Laboratory for Scientific Control of Biological Products and Veterinary Drugs – Bucharest (1983-1989), the Institute of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Research Bucharest (1989-1992), the Romanian Intelligence Service (1992-2007), and in the Vibrational Spectroscopy Department at SCIENT - Research Center for Instrumental Analysis, Tȃncăbeşti – Snagov, (2014-2018). Now he is the CEO and senior researcher at AAB_IR Research Bragadiru, Romania. His research interests concern the molecular recognition of pharmaceutical and biological compounds, using infrared spectroscopy techniques. He is the author/co-author of 98 publications in biomedical, pharmaceutical, and food analysis, including two books, VIBRATIONAL SPECTROSCOPY APPLICATIONS IN BIOMEDICAL, PHARMACEUTICAL AND FOOD SCIENCES (2020), and EDIBLE OILS ANALYSIS. TRENDS IN INFRARED SPECTROSCOPY AND OTHER ANALYTICAL METHODS, (2025), both published by Elsevier. There are also six chapters with prof. H.Y.
