Her work is deeply informed by a background in community care, pastoral counseling, and a perspective shaped by the Black American experience, who is always pointing toward hope, restoration, and embodied faith.

When not writing, teaching or coaching, she can be found gathering with friends and family or traveling. She is ever listening for the sacred stories unfolding in everyday life. De Angela lives with her husband in Africa and she has three adult children.
