Marco Arezio. I am an author of detective and mystery novels because I believe that the truth, in a novel as in life, is never presented all at once: it must be dug out, one clue at a time, until the pieces fit together and the reader understands — a moment before or a moment after the protagonist — how things really happened.

My investigations are born from a simple idea: a good mystery isn't just a puzzle to be solved, it's a door that opens onto an era, a place, a way of life. That's why I set my stories in precise historical contexts, carefully reconstructed — from 1960s Italy to the Middle Ages to the present day — because time and place become clues in themselves, and atmosphere is as much a part of the solution as logic.

What sets me apart

Investigators with a voice of their own. My protagonists — from Lucia Marini, who investigates in 1960s Italy, to Marina Ravelli, who moves through the mysteries of the Bergamo mountains, to other characters caught up in events against their will — aren't narrative devices in service of the plot: they have character, a point of view, limitations. It's through their eyes that the reader enters the mystery, not as an outside observer.

Historical and environmental rigor in service of the plot. I don't settle for background setting: the eras and places my characters move through are reconstructed with care, because a historical detail out of place breaks the reader's trust just as much as a clue that doesn't add up.

Sweeping, multi-generational plots. With the Ravelli family saga, I built a storyline that spans multiple generations and multiple books, where secrets buried in the past resurface after years have passed. I love mysteries that expand outward, connecting a seemingly isolated case to a larger family or community story.

A clean mystery, no shortcuts. My solutions grow from clues honestly scattered throughout the narrative: the attentive reader always has the tools to get there on their own. I don't use gratuitous twists to surprise; I use well-hidden clues to surprise honestly.

What I offer readers

Whoever opens one of my books finds a mystery to solve, of course, but also a world to immerse themselves in: a reconstructed era, real places, characters who stay with you long after the last page, and writing that's in no hurry to reach the solution because the journey matters as much as the destination. Whether it's a historical mystery, a multi-voice family intrigue, or a case set in a medieval monastery, the pact with the reader is always the same: every clue counts, and the truth, when it arrives, has to hold up.
