Pepper Jay

The author, Pepper Jay, is a longtime friend of actress Francine York, as well as a music producer, rancher, and public speaker. Over the years she has worn many hats, teacher, lawyer, actress, TV producer, and translator, but she considers her lifetime friendships her greatest achievements.

She first met Francine in 2004 while serving as Executive Producer and Co-Director of the feature film Hercules in Hollywood, in which Francine was cast as Hera. Their relationship began on set, where the author was struck by Francine’s commitment and talent, and quickly grew into a lasting friendship. A casual “let’s do lunch” soon blossomed into more than a decade of shared conversations, laughter, and trust.

As their friendship deepened, Francine began sharing countless stories from her extraordinary life and career. Surrounded by boxes of newspaper clippings, magazine features, souvenirs, letters, and decades of detailed diaries, the two set out to organize her history by decade and craft a memoir together. Francine agreed to tell her story only if it could be a collaboration, and the author gladly accepted.

In 2016, when the manuscript was nearly complete, Francine asked her friend to promise she would finish the project if anything happened to her. The promise was kept, and this book, Francine’s story, in Francine’s words, is the result.

Pepper hopes that Francine York: A Trail of Stardust will ensure that Francine’s brilliance continues to inspire fans, friends, and dreamers for generations to come.

Welcome to Dynamic Song Performance, a Singer’s Bible. This may be the only how-to performance book for singers that is equally valuable to magicians, comics, actors, public speakers, models, performance coaches, and trial lawyers. Why? Because it focuses on audience psychology. The book explains what every performer must do to seduce the camera and the audience, to keep the crowds enthralled, and turn listeners and viewers into loyal fans. The Dynamic Song Performance Skills method begins by reinforcing successful performance skills while re-directing unsuccessful ones. Pepper Jay and her coaching partner, John Michael Ferrari, guide students through the general aspects of vocal, physical, emotional, and mental song performance skills required of a successful professional singer, performer, recording artist and entertainer. Pepper Jay then hones the student's skills to perfection while teaching audience psychology skills. Each student receives customized coaching depending upon their talents and their expressed goals. What makes a singer a star? Pepper drills into students’ heads that there are many excellent singers who never “make it.” Over several decades, Pepper Jay has developed powerful song performance guidelines that, when followed by talent who remain true to themselves, result in impressive success. This text, Dynamic Performance Skills, The Singers Bible, is a guide to the fundamentals of song performance, directed to both the novice singer with dreams of fame and fortune, as well as the professional singer who wants to increase mastery of song performance skills and be at the top of their craft.
