About the author:
Though a naturalized British Citizen, William Agunwa was born in Enugu, then the Capital of the Eastern Region of Nigeria, now Enugu State of Nigeria. By winning a sequence of scholarships solely on merit, he was able to progress from the Government College Umuahia to the University of Glasgow Medical School. Later, He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. House jobs included working with the Regius Professors of Medicine and Surgery in Glasgow before moving to Farnham Hospital, the Royal National Orthopedic Hospital in London, and as Surgical Research Registrar at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury. He worked for twenty years in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a consultant orthopedic surgeon at the King Khalid Military City Hospital, hospitals in Jeddah, and King Fahad Specialist Hospital in Medina. He also worked at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital and National Orthopedic Hospitals in Enugu, Nigeria, as a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon. He travelled widely in Europe and Scandinavia. He retired quietly in the village of Farringdon in Hampshire, England, until he passed away in 2022.
