John Eidmann

John Eidmann is a former Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier pilot turned commercial airline first officer. Raised in Westchester, New York, he spent idyllic summers on Lake Garfield in the Berkshires and attended boarding school at Berkshire School in Sheffield, Massachusetts. He graduated from Boston College in 1986 with a BA in Economics before commissioning in the Marine Corps.After Officer Candidates School and The Basic School in Quantico, Virginia, John completed flight training in Pensacola, Florida, and Beeville, Texas. He flew the Harrier from bases in Cherry Point, North Carolina, and Yuma, Arizona, with multiple deployments—including a WestPac cruise aboard USS Belleau Wood.In 1998, he transitioned to commercial aviation, where he continues to fly internationally. His years in high-performance cockpits and global travel have fueled a lifelong fascination with risk, technology, and the human decisions that shape our future.The Logic of Extinction: Rise of the unconstrained Quantum mind is his debut novel—a gripping techno-thriller inspired by real-world warnings about superintelligence alignment.
