R. Davenport

R. Davenport writes atmospheric psychological thrillers and gritty small-town mysteries set in the heart of the American Midwest.

Living just a hundred miles from the real Cedar River in Iowa, Davenport draws inspiration from the silent landscapes and deep-rooted secrets of the region. Her writing captures the unique tension of rural life—where everyone knows your name, but no one knows your truth.

In her debut series, The Cedar Valley Files, she introduces readers to Sheriff Rowan Hayes, a woman caught between the law she serves and the shadows of a past that refuses to stay buried.

When she isn’t crafting intricate puzzles and "mist-shrouded" suspense, Davenport can be found exploring the quiet corners of Iowa that find their way into her stories.
