John Ferris

John P Ferris grew up under the sunny skies of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, where he was born in 1955. To this day, he calls the lush outskirts of that vibrant sub-tropical city home. With his family now grown, John pours his energy and compassion into serving his local community through his role in Pastoral Care at his church.

John’s career is a tapestry woven with diverse experiences—from the fast-paced world of automotive work to the complexities of chemical manufacturing, finance, franchising, and transportation. For the past 25 years, he has devoted himself to supporting a medical charity in Kakinada, AP, India, and, more recently, to bringing hope to widows and orphans in Cuddalore, TN, India. Driven by a deep desire to uplift the poor and needy, John continues to expand his impact.

Beyond his professional and charitable pursuits, John is captivated by the mysteries hidden within the Bible. His unique hobby? Unraveling mathematical puzzles tucked away in its ancient texts. Whether he’s calculating the lifespan of Job (ca. 1680–1470 BCE), exploring the elusive value of Pi in scripture, pinpointing the controversial date and cause of Noah’s Flood, or challenging assumptions about the true location of Armageddon (hint: it’s not Megiddo), John relishes every discovery. He’s even counted the exact number of times “Fear not” appears together in the King James Version—a reassuring 53—one for every week of the year, plus one for leap days.

Fun fact: While John excels at cracking complex math puzzles, he’s also a storyteller at heart. He’s transformed several Bible stories into witty, narrative poems, blending his analytical mind with a playful sense of humor.
