Ivan Daunis

Ivan Daunis is a computer scientist and AI engineer with over 30 years of experience in software development. He currently leads agentic AI initiatives at PayPal, focusing on declarative approaches to AI agent orchestration.

Ivan's career spans multiple waves of technological evolution—from the early web era through cloud computing, big data, machine learning, and now generative AI. As a serial entrepreneur in the 2000s, he co-founded software companies serving clients from startups to local news stations. He later held senior engineering roles at companies from mid-size startups to Fortune 500 enterprises, building video platforms, recommendation engines, and autonomous AI agents.

He holds a Master's degree in Computer Science with a specialization in AI/ML from Western Governors University, completed in 2025 at age 48 while working full-time. He has filed several provisional patents on AI systems and published research on declarative agent orchestration.

Originally from Barcelona, Spain, Ivan has worked across the United States before settling in Silicon Valley in 2015. He lives in Los Gatos, California, with his family.
