Certified public accountant, systems engineer, and a reader for fifty years before deciding to write the books I wanted to read and couldn't find.
My work moves in three directions. The historical alternate histories start from a simple question: what if? Rome, Carthage, Napoleon, the Mongol Empire. In the Pax Machina trilogy, Caesar survives the Ides of March and the technical revolution arrives eighteen centuries ahead of schedule: a Rome that no longer answers to the gods, but to the gears. I build the turning points with an engineer's logic: every variable has consequences, nothing breaks without a reason.
The second direction is darker. The Anomalies series was born from real experiences during sleep: worlds where closing your eyes is not resting, and where the border between waking life and the other side is thinner than anyone cares to admit.
The third is the most recent: the thriller. The Corner is a story of buried secrets rising back to the surface, in the tradition of Harlan Coben: ordinary people, a past that won't stay quiet, and a twist you never saw coming.
And outside of any series are the books I wrote out of love. Two Fathers is the portrait of the two men who shaped me while resembling each other in nothing. My Adoptive Mom began as a Christmas gift for my wife: the true story of our rescued cat, told by the voice that cannot speak.
If you've finished one of my books and want to know what comes next, or simply want to reach out, you can find me on Goodreads as Eduardo Kwiatkowski.
Where to start? If alternate history draws you in, start with The Scar of March, the first book of the Pax Machina trilogy. If you're intrigued by what happens when sleeping becomes dangerous, start with The Sleep Recruits. If you want a thriller you won't be able to put down, start with The Corner. And if you've ever looked into the eyes of a rescued animal and found family, start with My Adoptive Mom.
