Renee Owen

Dr. Renee Owen is a scholar, teacher, and author in leadership, with a mission for people thrive. She Coordinates the Principal Administrator Licensure program at Southern Oregon University, preparing teachers to become change-leaders.

Internationally, Dr. Owen consults with organizations to develop leaders, improve communication, and transform culture. She serves as Board Facilitator for the International Transformative Learning Association (ITLA) and advises on dynamic governance.

Dr. Owen earned her EdD at Columbia University Teachers College, focusing on adult learning and leadership through transformative learning theory.

With more than two decades as a school leader, she uses a holistic, living-systems approach to closing opportunity gaps and uplifting the human spirit. She founded Paradox Valley School, a high-poverty/high-performing school using project-based learning, and later led Rainbow Community School, a holistic school in Asheville, NC. She is a fellow of the

Collaborative for Spirituality in Education and an Ashoka Change Leader.

She is Senior Editor of the *Holistic Education Review.
