Alec Milner

Alec Milner is a mechanical engineer and systems integrator with a deep background in the aerospace and defense industry. His career has spanned the full engineering lifecycle, ranging from the gritty, hands-on testing of tactical vehicles at government proving grounds to the abstract, high-consequence design of strategic systems at Sandia National Laboratories.

Throughout his work on tactical vehicles, next-generation spac,e and missile programs, Alec has spearheaded interdisciplinary engineering efforts for complex hardware and guided the formal qualification of systems intended for the most extreme environments imaginable. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Engineering from Purdue University, focusing on the intersection of technology and defense strategy.

Alec wrote The Defense Sector Launchpad after years of recognizing a critical gap between academic theory and the unwritten rules of the national security sector. He created this guide to be the map he wishes he had—a resource designed to demystify the industry and empower the next generation of engineers to build careers of purpose, integrity, and impact.
