Anna West

Anna West is a writer, storyteller, and mother of three boys. She is also the creative partner to her husband, Toofun West. Born in Zürich, Switzerland, Anna grew up traveling across the world, experiencing diverse cultures from an early age. Alongside this global upbringing, she witnessed firsthand the hardship and poverty present in many parts of the world — experiences that deeply shaped her empathy and perspective.

Fluent in multiple languages, Anna was able to connect directly with people across cultures, listening to their stories and lived experiences. Hearing voices that were often overlooked or unheard became the foundation of her desire to write and perform — to help bring meaningful stories into the light.

At eighteen, Anna moved to Los Angeles to pursue her craft, studying at the Lee Strasberg Institute for Theatre and Film, and later training under Leigh Kilton Smith and at Diana Castle’s Imagined Life. Her background in performance and storytelling informs her writing with emotional depth, sensitivity, and authenticity.

Together with her husband and creative partner, Toofun West, Anna’s work has received international recognition, including both being listed on the Oscars website as quarter-finalists in the Academy Nicholl Fellowship, one of the most prestigious screenwriting programs in the world. Today, Anna continues to write alongside Toofun, drawing from a lifetime of cultural insight, human connection, and a shared belief in the power of stories to create understanding and hope.
