After years of traveling, camping, and exploring California in classic vehicles, RVs, and tents, they founded Hermann Press to share what guidebooks usually leave out: the real, the quiet, and the meaningful places that turn a trip into an experience worth remembering.

Their Travel Smart™ series is built on first-hand research, not recycled internet content. Every campground in their books has been personally tested. Every road has been driven. Every recommendation comes from sitting around the fire, watching the sun set over a canyon, and asking: would we send a friend here?
