Prabhat Kumar is a Naval Architect and safety professional based in Alang, Gujarat, India, where he works in the ship recycling industry. His professional journey began in Singapore, where he spent nearly a decade with a multinational organization involved in the construction of offshore oil rigs and semi-submersible vessels. He later returned to India to contribute to safer, more structured, and more sustainable ship recycling practices.
He holds a degree in Naval Architecture and Ship Building from Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) and an MBA in Oil & Gas from UPES, Dehradun. He has also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety Management from GJUST, Haryana, a Diploma in Training & Development from ISTD, Delhi, and a Certificate Course in Environmental Studies from IGNOU.
Prabhat is a NEBOSH International Diploma holder, Certified Safety Professional (CSP – BCSP, USA), Chartered Engineer (India), and Fellow Life Member of the Institute of Marine Engineers (India). He is a Lead Auditor for ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018, and an internal auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 30000, and ISO 50001. He has also completed multiple Train-the-Trainer programs and continues to promote practical, field-focused learning for high-risk industries.
