Patrick McAuliffe, Ph.D., is a Columbia University-trained, licensed psychologist and mental performance consultant with over two decades of experience working with athletes, coaches, families, and performance-driven systems. His work bridges clinical psychology, performance science, and real-world coaching environments.
Patrick is the creator of the Flow Mental Performance & Skills System (MPSS), a practical, illustrated framework designed to help coaches teach regulation, attention, confidence, and recovery under real competitive pressure. Rather than focusing on motivation or mindset slogans, MPSS trains pattern recognition, timing, and precise intervention when performance begins to break down.
In addition to his clinical background, Patrick works closely with parents and families, translating performance psychology into language that supports growth without over-coaching, pressure, or conflict. This parent-informed perspective shapes MPSS’s emphasis on relational safety, shared language, and environments that support athletes' adaptation under stress.
A cornerstone of Patrick’s work is the belief that when we treat people not only as they are, but as they could become, we help them grow into who they already are. Much of what seems impossible in performance, development, and resilience becomes possible when people are supported with clarity, patience, and trust.
Patrick’s work is grounded, human-centered, and developmentally informed—designed to hold up in gyms, matches, car rides, and seasons where growth is uneven, and pressure is unavoidable.
