R. K. Compton

R. K. Compton is an award-winning author whose books received 5x finalist awards at the 2026 San Francisco Book Festival across the General Nonfiction, How-To, and Self-Help categories.

He holds an MSc in Clinical Neuropsychiatry, a BSc in Human Neuroscience, and a PGCert in the Advanced Practice of Psychological Wellbeing. He is a bilingual author-publisher (En/Fr) in neuroscience and mental health, and he works as a psychotherapist. Navigating his 20s as a postgraduate, Compton sought to build something that could cater to the public's growing curiosity about neuroscience and self-understanding. That desire gave rise to Lore and Lobe, a realm for the seekers and the curious; a place for neuroscience and mental health.

His books fall into two categories: guides that clarify the mechanics of psychotherapy, and those that illuminate the neural and psychological processes that shape our experiences, without diluting the science. He writes with an awareness of his Anglo-Congolese identity in fields where Black neuroscientists and Black psychotherapists are still severely underrepresented. As a dyslexic author, he hopes these workbooks offer representation, demonstrating that while writing is more challenging, it remains an achievable goal.
