Mohammed Abdullah Hussein Mohammed ElSheikh, also known as Mohammed Hussein, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Sulaymaniyah (Sulaimani University). He holds a PhD in Computer Science and an MSc in Computer Engineering.
His research interests include air pollution measurement, data acquisition systems, and client–server remote access technologies. He has published 21 research papers and two academic books with Lambert Academic Publishing, both available on Amazon:
Measurements in Air Pollution – Data Acquisition Made Easy (2017) and
Client-Server Based Remote Access through the Internet (2012).
He graduated from Shorish High School in Sulaymaniyah in 1981–1982, which was considered one of the best secondary schools at that time. He then joined the Control and Systems Engineering Department at the University of Technology, Baghdad, one of Iraq’s leading institutions in engineering education and research during that period.
He later enrolled in a joint MSc program in Computer Engineering, graduating in 1991 and becoming the first Kurdish man to obtain an MSc degree in Computer Engineering at that time. Following this, he joined the College of Engineering at Salahaddin University as a member of the teaching staff. He obtained his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Sulaimani in 2007 and was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in 2013.
He is the son of two respected educators from the 1970s and 1980s, Abdullah ElSheikh Hussein and Sajida Hassan Ali, whose dedication to teaching had a lasting influence on his academic path. He is a devoted family man and the father of three grown children, including one son and two daughters.
