Edgar grew up in Southern California, where private schools and a steady diet of horror and science fiction shaped his imagination early on. As a teen, he became fascinated with stories that explored utopian and dystopian worlds — especially the question most novels never answer: How does a utopia actually begin?
That question stayed with him into adulthood. Noticing that many futuristic stories drop readers into a finished world without revealing its origins, Edgar set out to write the kind of tale he always wanted to read: a story about a society on the brink of transformation.
Blending his love of fantasy, action, and suspense, he created House of Broken Bones, an action‑driven narrative that traces the fragile, dangerous path toward a utopian future.
“Pay close attention,” he says. “My book is a puzzle.”
