Matthew Knox Averett

Matthew Knox Averett is Professor of Art History at Creighton University. He has a PhD in Art History & Archaeology from the University or Missouri. His main research areas are the urban history of Rome and St. Louis. Publications include The Early Modern Child in Art and History and Canfield Drive: A History of Race and the American City on a Street in St. Louis. His articles have appeared in the Sixteenth Century Journal, the Zeitschrift for Kustgeschichte, and the American Journal of Numismatics. At Creighton, he teaches classes in art history from the Renaissance to the twentieth century.
