David Emerson Trim

Not long ago, David Emerson Trim and his wife Christine were rescued by a 6-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog named Bowzer.

This fella was a brilliant and creative boy. A great communicator. Soon, David began to write about a dog who learns to speak English with the help of an exceptional young man on the autism spectrum. Together, they challenge our assumptions about human superiority. Through a dog’s point of view. Bowzer was by David’s side for years, inspiring this saga set in a version of David’s home town. Now, Bowzer has moved on to some other mission out in the universe.

But his impact lives on.

David grew up in West Texas and has spent his whole life surrounded by dogs who were smarter than him. And women, like his wife, his sister and his mom, all seemed to know more too. After 35 years as a professional copywriter, creative director, TV and screenwriter, he finally got the chance to tell the story he was always meant to tell. With some help from Bowzer, known here as Lido.

This is David's first novel. But the story is far from over.
