I’m an equestrian professional, trainer, and lifelong horsewoman who has spent more than twenty years inside an industry that often looks glamorous from the outside and feels exhausting from the inside. I own and operate a training and boarding facility, and my days are spent riding, teaching, rehabbing horses, and managing the realities that don’t usually make it into the highlight reels.
I wrote The Dream They Sold Us after years of burnout, silence, and realizing that the version of success I was chasing was never designed to be sustainable. At fifteen, I survived a catastrophic barn fire that changed the trajectory of my life and shaped the way I move through responsibility, pressure, and care. That experience—and everything that followed—taught me resilience, hyper-independence, and the cost of never slowing down.
This book is for the people who did everything “right,” worked relentlessly, and still ended up questioning why success felt so heavy. It’s for anyone who has felt disillusioned, emotionally drained, or misled by an industry—or a system—that rewards endurance over well-being.
Today, I’m focused on redefining what success looks like, advocating fiercely for horses, and creating space for more honest conversations about burnout, boundaries, and accountability. My hope is that this book makes readers feel less alone and more empowered to build a life that actually fits.
