Phillip Valentine

Phillip Valentine is a long-time recovery advocate, cancer survivor, and Appalachian Trail thru-hiker whose life and work are dedicated to showing that healing and transformation are possible at any age. After decades in the addiction recovery field, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 oralpharyngeal cancer, an experience that shattered his sense of security and eventually led to a bold decision: to walk the entire 2,189-mile Appalachian Trail and carry a message of hope every step of the way.

In his memoir, Continue, Right Click on the Appalachian Trail, Phillip weaves together wilderness adventure, serious illness, and long-term recovery, inviting readers into the emotional and spiritual terrain behind the miles. Drawing on years of personal recovery and leadership in the recovery community, he writes with honesty, humility, and a steadfast belief that there are many pathways to a meaningful life.

When he is not writing or consulting, Phillip enjoys time with his family, traveling with Sandy, relishing the outdoors, creating art, and encouraging others to take the next right step - whether on the trail, in recovery, and in everyday life.
