Rida Fatima

Rida Fatima was born in Karachi, Pakistan, and has spent most of her life in Houston, Texas. Professionally, she leads organizational development and is passionate about helping others learn and grow. While her career centers on adult learning, Rida has always cherished

children’s stories and the joy they bring.

The House with the Wooden Swing is her debut children’s book, inspired by the animals that visit her backyard patio, especially a sweet opossum family that has returned for several years. Rida and her husband, Luis, take great joy in caring for their backyard visitors and feel honored when these wild creatures bring their babies, a sign of trust and safety. Through her writing, Rida hopes to inspire children to see the beauty in every creature, even those that might seem a little different. She believes that empathy, kindness, and curiosity can help all living beings find a place to belong.
