Josh Lee

Josh Lee is the author of The Food Chronicles series: The Cacao Chronicles, The Coffee Chronicles, and The Tea Chronicles. Each book explores how a single crop has shaped history, science, trade, and culture. He holds degrees in finance from Santa Clara University and psychology from Indiana University, and an MBA from Louisiana State University Shreveport.

Lee has spent his career in finance and operations leadership. His roles include COO of an e-commerce company, senior finance positions in venture capital and high-growth technology companies, and his current role as CFO of a commercial construction firm in Silicon Valley.

He is also the founder of Codebase Studio, a technology studio that builds AI-driven apps and websites and produces the podcasts KidsNewsFlash and Animal Battle Royale, with listeners in more than fifty countries. He also founded the Menlo Park Chocolate Company, which makes small-batch chocolate and connects his writing on the history and science of food to hands-on production. He lives in Menlo Park, California, with his two children.
