David Frederiksen is a writer and girl dad who lives in Wilmington, NC, with his wife, three daughters and Enola the cat. Born in Ohio with ancestral ties to New England, Frederiksen spent his youth in both the North and South, having eventually decided to settle in the latter because of his love of “hearing bigger-than-life people tell bigger-than-life stories.” Among his artistic influences are John Updike, William Faulkner, Robert Lowell, Carson McCullers, Florence King, Nina Simone, Sade and Sinead O'Connor. He enjoys yoga and jazz, and putting dinner on the table for whomever shows up. School lunchboxes accidentally left on kitchen countertops and small, plush toys serendipitously dropped from backpacks in the driveway melt his heart every time.
