Kate Duprez has always loved history and loves reading historical novels from any era. In historical fiction the characters and their stories become more than just statistics. They become real. Readers suddenly care about the people who lived, loved, suffered or thrived during wars, environmental disasters, political unrest or times of change. Readers come to understand and feel what it was really like for people living during that time; exposing both the human weakness and the human heroism that surface under stress.
Her novels, The Warsaw Messenger, The Bordeaux Bakery and it's sequel, The Bordeaux Betrayals are inspired by her research of the British agents who worked undercover in Nazi-occupied Europe during World War II. In these novels we meet 'ordinary' people; a linguist, a baker, a Countess, a mechanic, a Jewish refuge, a farmer and his wife, a womanizer ....and many more who are all living under the tyranny of brutal occupation, but are determined to fight back in any way they can, often performing extraordinary acts of courage.
Kate loves to travel, catch up with 4 adult children around the world and she enjoys an outdoor lifestyle in beautiful New Zealand.
