Dr. Ross Duff, MD, is a physician, minister, and Bible teacher whose life reflects a seamless mix of faith, scholarship, and service. He was raised in the small rural town of Houston, Missouri. Ross grew up with parents who were both school teachers and cattle farmers, which shaped his grounded, hard-working character from an early age. He went on to earn three degrees from the University of Missouri, Columbia, and built a strong academic foundation for his dual paths in medicine and ministry.
Ross has served as a preaching minister, campus minister, and physician in both OB/GYN and general practice. His calling has extended far beyond traditional roles that led him into Christian medical missions in Brazil, Eastern Europe, Uganda, and Haiti, where he combined physical care with spiritual encouragement. He describes his work and worldview as completely intertwined, which reflects his belief that healing and discipleship naturally belong together.
His love for Scripture is enriched by his archaeology experience in Israel and his interests in Middle Eastern culture, travel, and collecting ancient coins. These experiences shape the practical, historical approach found in his writing. Ross began writing in 2000, inspired simply by being a follower of Jesus.
His books, The Bible in You and Village Pastor’s Manual, reflect his desire to help believers deepen their understanding of God’s Word. His goal is to guide readers toward a level of biblical familiarity where, upon hearing just a few verses, they intuitively recognize when and where the passage belongs. Ross continues to write, teach, and serve, committed to helping others grow in clarity, confidence, and spiritual maturity.
