Katie Scorah

Katie Scorah has always loved writing stories, and the arrival of her daughter Effy gave her an extra special reason to write The Ship’s Cat. Katie grew up in Wigton, Cumbria, going on to study English at the University of Oxford. She is partially sighted, but always felt determined that this would never hold her back. She qualified as a secondary school English teacher in 2010, and has been teaching ever since. Katie lives in the North East of England with her husband Ainsley, their daughter Effy, and their black rescue cat, Bellatrix. The Ship’s Cat is her first published work.
