Craig Brown

Craig Clifton is a Milwaukee-born writer, educator, and community leader whose work centers on survival, urban culture, and the unspoken pressures Black men face in America. Raised in one of the nation’s most segregated and policed cities, he built a life defined not by the streets that shaped him—but by the decisions that kept him free.

As founder of Craig Clifton Publishing, he documents stories that challenge stereotypes and expose the systems that hold communities back. His writing blends personal truth, social commentary, and cultural insight, offering a voice for those who navigate danger, discrimination, and unfair treatment every day.

Never Caught a Case is his debut memoir and the first book in a body of work dedicated to resilience, purpose, and the fight for equality. Never Caught a Case is also one of the first autobiography memoirs to be released and paired with a hip-hop album. Social Just'US, is an album written and performed by Craig Brown aka Big Craig
