Audra E Balson

Hello, I'm Audra Balson, wife, mother, geologist, road cyclist, rock enthusiast, and perpetual learner and teacher of the natural world around us. I am continually in awe of the delicate balance between our earth & atmosphere. I've dedicated my career as a geologist to environmental remediation—advancing clean public and private drinking water supplies. I truly enjoy my work, but have learned to squeeze in some hobbies through the chaos, one of which is writing & illustrating non-fiction, geology themed children's books. My first book, Rock, Recycle, Repeat! teaches the geologic rock cycle, and is a passion project to serve those without access to clean drinking water. I am donating all profits from the book to drilling potable wells overseas. I live in PA with my husband, two children, & three guinea pigs. When I'm not shoveling natural science into my family's faces, you can find me cycling, tending to my rock gardens, & touring anthracite coal mines and environmental cleanup sites.
