Nicole Selby

Nicole Selby is a Canadian author, paramedic, and community advocate whose writing is inspired by her extensive experience in healthcare, animal-assisted interventions, and literacy promotion. Through her work integrating and partnering with therapy, wellness, and facility dogs in community settings, Nicole has witnessed firsthand the profound impact animals can have on people, bringing authenticity, compassion, and lived experience to her storytelling. She is the author of the children’s books Ernie, the Perfectly Wonderful (Bad) Therapy Dog and Moxy Makes a Difference, both of which celebrate kindness, resilience, and the powerful bond between people and animals. Nicole is also the founder of Pages, Pens & Paws, an initiative dedicated to promoting literacy through animal-assisted programming and community outreach.
