Megan Dudley has been traveling and exploring the world since before she could even walk. A lifelong lover of children, animals, travel, and learning, Megan brings those passions together in the colorful and playful world of Lola & Mia’s books.

The inspiration behind the stories comes from two very real—and very different—four-legged members of her family. Lola, the older and wiser of the pair, and Mia, her lovable, skittish and quirky sidekick, have spent years traveling and exploring alongside Megan and her family. Their adventures, personalities, and unique friendship became the perfect inspiration for stories that encourage children to explore the world with the same sense of curiosity.

As a Nurse and Education Director for one of the largest employers in the United States, Megan has spent her career helping others learn, grow, and thrive. As a mom, she also knows some of the best learning happens when children are simply having fun. That idea is at the heart of every Lola & Mia book: help kids discover, explore, and learn—without it ever feeling like a lesson.

Today, Megan writes three Lola & Mia series, with something for every age and stage.

Lola & Mia’s Adventures follows the lovable dogs as they travel, explore, and discover all the world has to offer. Packed with playful phrases, action, humor, and learning, the stories are made to be enjoyed again and again—with plenty of Mia’s quirky expressions for kids to repeat along the way.

Lola & Mia’s Ready Readers helps beginning readers build confidence through familiar topics, simple sentences, engaging stories, and plenty of fun. With books ranging from Levels 1 through 4, the series grows alongside young readers as their skills and curiosity grow.

Lola & Mia’s Little Learners introduces babies and toddlers to early concepts such as numbers, letters, and shapes through simple, bold illustrations and adorable characters. Large, easy-to-follow designs invite little ones to point, trace and learn through play.

Through every Lola & Mia book, Megan hopes to inspire more curiosity, confidence, family time, and a lifelong love of learning.
