Vinoth Govindarajan

Vinoth Govindarajan is a Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI, where he works on large-scale data and applied AI systems. He brings a rare end-to-end perspective on modern table formats, having worked on Apache Hudi at Uber, Apache Iceberg at Apple, and Delta Lake at OpenAI. Previously, Vinoth served as a Staff Software Engineer at Apple, leading the development of next-generation data platforms using Iceberg, Spark, Trino, and Flink. Before Apple, he was a Staff Software Engineer at Uber, building incremental ETL frameworks and real-time pipelines powered by Hudi. Vinoth is also an active open-source contributor with involvement in the Hudi and dbt-spark communities. He has presented at industry events such as dbt Coalesce and Hudi community meetups and has written widely read blogs on open lakehouses and modern data architectures. Vinoth holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and has published several research papers in IEEE journals.
