Elaine Blick

Elaine had written 14 books with fictional characters who experience all kinds of adventures, yet her own life makes for exciting reading - when as a child she fell twelve feet from a tree and got up unscathed; the time she dealt with the unwelcome attentions of a stalker and most dramatic of all her time in Soviet Russia when she narrowly escaped being held by the KGB. Her love of adventure has placed her in some awkward situations but through it all, Elaine attributes her remarkable escapes to supernatural intervention. In fact, her faith in God shines through most of her stories but most of all in her memoir, Just Fancy, which carries a message of hope to all.

Born in England during the Second World War Elaine moved to New Zealand with her parents in 1947 where they lived in the same house in Auckland for twenty-six years. Elaine's dream had always been to return to England whiich she finally did in 1969. Many of her amazing adventures began there.

Elaine holds a Masters degree in English from Auckland University and has taught in primary and secondary schools in the UK and New Zealand. Now retired she lives once again at Clarks Beach where all her holidays were spent as a child. She has written most of her books in a little bach by the beach where her only distractions are seabirds and the occasional dog walker.

She herself has two cavoodle puppies to keep her company as well as four cats and five chickens. Life is never dull for Elaine.
