Allen ha been moving through America for more than fifty years; on motorcycles, through archives, and along the back roads that don't show up on most maps. A military veteran and life long motorcycle rider, he cam to writing the way he came to most things...sideways, out of necessity or curiosity and with no particular plan to stop.

he writes across genres because life doesn't stay in one lane. His work includes literary memoir, narrative history and fiction, each one an attempt to make sense of a country he's been riding through for a long time.
