A little more about me…
When I’m not writing, or on an ambulance or in a theater, I love to travel. I’m fortunate
that life has taken me to a great many places, including Spain, Italy, Mexico, Peru,
England, the Netherlands, Belgium, Monaco, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Turkey, Costa Rica,
Bahamas, Antigua & Barbuda, French Polynesia and Ireland. I’ve had the pleasure of
enjoying 37 of these beautiful, United States — plus the District of Columbia. I find the
world to be a beautiful place and hiking in State and National parks is a favorite
pastime. Meeting people from all walks of life is always inspiring and fascinating.
A little more about my books…
It’s 2025 and a dangerous time for LGBTQ+ people. In my life, I’ve seen our community
go from being labeled as a psychiatric illness to the legalization of gay marriage. I
remember when there was only negative or no representation of gay people anywhere:
books, TV, movies, plays. I have seen far too many movies and shows where the gay
characters are silly, caricatures and jokes. I’ve watched far too many movies where gay
relationships are undervalued and never turn out well.
Recently, I have felt that these things were changing for the better, but I fear we are
currently on a path backwards. I have made a vow that every book or story I write will
have gay characters that are strong, competent and capable. None will be a caricature,
joke or scapegoat. While they may face challenges, none will be sad, lonely, sidelined
or a sidekick. Relationships will be real and they will survive the inevitable challenges
that real relationships face. Adversity will be overcome. Every ending will be a happy
ending. Why? Because in our community, we need representation. We need role
models. We need to know that happy, lasting relationships are not just possible, they
are real. Far too many of us still suffer in our daily lives. If that’s you, escape into my
world. In the world of my stories, LOVE WINS! Always.
