Selene Partida is a Mexican-born writer, community leader, and humanitarian advocate dedicated to amplifying the stories and struggles of migrants. She has spent more than twenty years supporting migrant families across the United States and Mexico, combining her work in emergency management, public affairs, and social outreach to uplift vulnerable communities.
She is the founder of Paper Doors / Puertas de Papel, a movement and literary project that brings visibility to returning migrants, families separated by borders, and those who have rebuilt their lives in silence. Her storytelling blends emotion, lived experience, and social awareness, offering readers a deeply human perspective on migration.
Selene lives in Chicago and continues to work in disaster recovery, community empowerment, and migrant advocacy. Puertas de Papel is her first book, written to honor the resilience, love, and dignity of migrants everywhere.
