D.H. Brown

Born to a Canadian mother and an Australian father in the former Belgian Congo, Brown spent his formative years in the midst of the Congo Crisis as the country gained its independence. Returning several times for school or to work and travel, the country always was his first home.

For the majority of his adult life, however, his home was in western Canada where he worked as a university photographer and helped to raise two children. He competed for sixteen years as a Masters track and field athlete and still finds time to create music with friends. He has photographed the Canadian peacekeepers in the former Yugoslavia, as well as Compassion Canada projects in Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia. He published the memoirs of both his mother and father and recently released his first novel.
