Matt Haden is a South African husband, father, storyteller, and dedicated Honorary Officer who has spent years working in the African bush, teaching children and communities about wildlife and conservation. With a Degree in Game Ranch Management and a love for reading, he believes deeply in the power of stories mixed with actual facts and knowledge to shape young minds.

Inspired by the simple truth that “No app can replace your lap,” Matt created Ranger Matt to bring families back to the joy of storytelling — the warm, unforgettable moments of reading together. His mission is to ignite curiosity, spark a love for nature and conservation and help children discover real wildlife facts through exciting, adventurous stories that entertain both the listener and the reader.

Whether he’s in classrooms, on nature walks, or telling stories to his own children, Matt is passionate about helping young readers reconnect with the outdoors, learn something new, and believe that adventure is always just a page away.
