Sandeep Menon is a journalist, writer, and educator whose work moves seamlessly between sport, culture, and storytelling. An automobile engineer by training, he spent over a decade as a journalist with leading publications, covering sports with insight and nuance. He also wrote on culture, gender, movies and just about anything that caught his fancy.
His debut book, Out of the Blue: Bengaluru FC’s 10-Year Odyssey (The Hindu Publishing Group), traces the club’s journey, capturing triumphs, heartbreaks, and the human stories behind the game.
His latest, Sacred Grounds: A Journey Through People’s Football in India (Penguin), explores the rich tapestry of regional football cultures across the country.
Co-creator of the podcast Injury Time, Sandeep also teaches narrative writing and journalism. He lives in Bengaluru with his wife.
