Troy Thompson is a Canadian writer and the author of The Nostalgia of Trauma, a raw and darkly funny memoir about the legacy of mental illness, the weight of family obligation, neurodivergence, and the unexpected healing power of friendship. His work is known for its emotional clarity, introspective voice, and unflinching honesty. Troy also publishes a Substack newsletter, where he shares new writing, behind-the-scenes process notes, and reflections on the craft of memoir. He lives in Canada and is currently at work on his next book.
