Marc Segal

Marc Segal dedicated more than four decades to public safety, serving over 41 years with the Los Angeles Fire Department, where he spent much of his career as a paramedic and EMS Battalion Captain. Before joining the fire service, Marc served 26 months with the Whittier Police Department, shaping a lifelong commitment to community service and protecting others.

Over the course of his career, Marc responded to tens of thousands of emergency calls, each one carrying stories of sacrifice, resilience, and the fragile line between life and loss. After years of being asked to share those experiences, Marc wrote The Crucible of a Man — a deeply personal, character-driven novel exploring family, loyalty, danger, and the unbreakable bonds forged in service.

Marc is married to his wife, Robyn, and together they share a blended family of five children and eleven grandchildren. They live in the beautiful small beach town of San Clemente, California, where they enjoy family time, traveling, scuba diving, and doting on their loyal Labrador retriever, Tucker.
