Elizabeth Rivera

Elizabeth Rivera is a lifelong educator with over twenty-five years of service in public education, primarily in dual-language or bilingual school programs as an ELD teacher and school administrator. She graduated from New Mexico State University with her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and started her teaching career with Albuquerque Public Schools as a middle school social studies, English Language Arts, and English Language Development teacher. After 14 years of teaching middle school, she graduated with a Master of Education Administration and Supervision from Arizona State University, starting her journey as a high school assistant principal, then a middle and high school principal in both Arizona and New Mexico. She is currently a high school principal and has been serving as a school administrator for over a decade. Elizabeth is a product of the Southwest and this allows her to share and bring cultural experiences to life. There are lessons to be learned through real-life experiences. Elizabeth has always seen herself as an artist but never a writer. Art has been her joy and passion from a very young age. She hopes to continue spreading a love of literacy and bi-literacy in her own community and beyond.
