Magdalena Kaiser

Magdalena is a Niagara-based international wine, gastronomy and travel consultant and writer with over four decades of experience in Canadian wine. Inspired early by her father, Canadian wine pioneer Karl Kaiser, she has dedicated her career to championing wines that reflect a true sense of place.

For the past seventeen years, Magdalena has been instrumental in raising the global profile of Ontario wine, helping to position the region as a must-visit destination for wine lovers. Certified by both the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, she is a passionate advocate for sustainability in winemaking, viticulture

and travel.

Magdalena serves as a judge for the Decanter World Wine Awards and as Canada’s regional ambassador for The Old Vine Conference, roles that take her around the world to discover, evaluate and celebrate some of the planet’s most compelling wines.

Her expertise includes a deep interest in skin-fermented white wines. Through her

artisanal label @TinyBatchWine, she produces magnums of Gamay—a personal favourite—

and skin-contact Gewürztraminer. Her winemaking is a heartfelt tribute to her father’s legacy.

A passionate cook, she loves celebrating the cultural connections between wine and food, especially those from Canada and from her Austrian, Italian and Istrian heritage.
