Barbara Band

Barbara Band is a Chartered librarian with over 35 years' experience working in education. She now offers freelance in-person and online consultancy, advice and training to help schools create a vibrant and inclusive library that meets the needs of their school community. Past President of CILIP, the Library and Information Association, and currently Vice-Chair and Newsletter Editor of the CILIP School Libraries Group, Barbara is actively involved in her profession. She has written several publications for the School Library Association, contributed articles to literacy-related journals and co-authored the Facet title 'Creating a School Library with Impact'. Her most recent book 'Championing Your School Library' is published later this year and she is currently working on her next book on demonstrating the value and impact of libraries.
