Ricky Hood

Ricky writes dark thrillers from Taiwan, where beauty and unease coexist, sometimes unwillingly. His stories examine how easily the familiar can turn dangerous, how chaos needs only a small trigger. After fifteen years of watching people and their quiet breakdowns, he’s come to believe one thing above all else: fear is truth. It exposes our desires, our concealments, and our ferocity. His work blends tension, wit, and an unflinching exploration of the shadows in us and around us. Beneath the violence and the irony runs a single question: what happens when we finally look in the mirror and see only darkness?

When he isn't writing, you can find him watching old and new horror films, reading something, catching up on sports he can no longer play because aging sucks, or simply hanging out at home or with friends. He is a full-time teacher, so chances are, you can catch him there from time to time too.
