Josiah Miller is a U.S. Navy veteran, certified personal trainer, and founder of Kokoro Health and Fitness in Atlantic Beach, Florida. After nearly two decades coaching everyday people, active-duty military, current, and former athletes, he realized most fitness advice forgot something: real life and normal people.
Tired of the influencer culture and the overly serious “grind or die” mentality, he started joking with clients to make training more fun. Those jokes turned into lessons, the lessons into stories, and eventually into Fitness for the Absurd, a book that reminds people that fitness is practical and should be fun too.
Josiah believes capable people are built from consistent training, not short bursts of intense theatrics. His philosophy is simple: take your health seriously, but not yourself. The result is fitness that makes you stronger, more confident, and ready for the nonsense of everyday life, without needing to act like a juiced-up Navy SEAL.
When he’s not coaching, writing, or explaining why burpees belong in every apocalypse plan, you can find him drinking coffee and using yard work with a ruck as zone 2 cardio.
