Saeng Douangdara

I'm a personal chef specializing in Lao cuisine turned content creator with over a million followers and millions of views. As a first-generation Lao American, food has always been a constant in my life, especially the dishes my mother cooked for our family.

After earning degrees in social welfare and counseling psychology, I worked at the University of California while teaching evening cooking classes. My passion for sharing Lao cuisine grew when I returned to Laos to reconnect with my roots. That trip inspired me to launch Saeng’s Kitchen LLC, cook for Hollywood clientele, and use social media to spotlight Lao food.

My work has been featured in Delish, BuzzFeed, the New York Times, and LA Times, and I even won an episode of TBS’s Rat in the Kitchen. I’m proud to be part of the Lao Food Movement and continue to uplift Lao cuisine and inspire others to explore its rich flavors.
