Joe Hecker is a writer and co-host of the Literary Ramblings podcast, where he explores books, authors, and the larger questions of why—and how—we read. A retired high school English teacher of more than three decades, he now publishes fiction that blends dark humor with themes of identity and the porous boundary between reality and illusion, drawing strong influence from Cervantes’ Don Quixote. His work reflects a lifelong engagement with storytelling, both in and beyond the classroom. He lives in the Midwest and continues to read far more than he writes.
